Magnificat plans event in Lincoln

LINCOLN (SNR) - Father Scott Courtney will be the speaker for Magnificat of Lincoln’s winter prayer meal on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Hillcrest Country Club, 9401 E. O St., Lincoln, at 9:30 a.m.

All are welcome to the morning of inspiration and fellowship, hearing Father Courtney’s witness to the Lord’s merciful love.

The ninth and youngest child of Mary Lu and the late Whitey Courtney, Father Courtney was ordained in 2000.  He has served in high schools and parishes, and is currently pastor at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Steinauer and Sacred Heart in Burchard. 

Father Courtney said his greatest love is Jesus Christ present in His Word and the Blessed Sacrament. He strives to help people love Our Lord in His Divine Mercy and to love His Mother.

The primary purpose of Magnificat is to help Catholic women become more open to the Holy Spirit through a deeper commitment of their lives to Jesus.
