WAVERLY (SNR) - Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly will host a “Life In the Spirit” retreat presented by Jack Lynch with Msgr. Paul Witt, sponsored by the Morning Star Chapter of Magnificat.

Women of all ages who desire a closer and deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit are invited to the April 8-10 retreat.

Jack Lynch is TV and radio producer for Renewal Ministries in Ann Arbor, Mich. He and his wife Lisa have five adult children and a growing list of grandchildren. Active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for more than 40 years, Jack currently leads “Life in the Spirit” seminars for his parish in Ann Arbor, Mich. and other parishes in the Diocese of Lansing, Mich.

“Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you” (Mt 6:33) became Lynch’s favorite scripture after he attended a Life in the Spirit seminar, and has become the bedrock of his life, he said. Lynch recently wrote “Open Wide the Doors to the Holy Spirit” for the the March 2016 Renewal Ministries newsletter, available at www.renewalministries.net.

Discussions at the retreat will be led by group leaders from the Morning Star Chapter of Magnificat. Magnificat is a Ministry to Catholic women, a private association of the faithful within the Catholic Church.  Magnificat strives to help Catholic women become more open to the Holy Spirit through a deeper commitment of their lives to Jesus as Lord and to impart the Holy Spirit to one another by their love, service and sharing the good news of salvation.

The Lincoln chapter is celebrating its 20th anniversary of service to the women of the Lincoln Diocese in 2016.  To learn about Magnificat, visit the national website: www.magnificat-ministry.net.  For additional information about Magnificat of Lincoln, contact coordinator Rhonda Litt at 402-489-3819 or 402-525-6396.

Msgr. Paul Witt, chaplain of the Magnificat Morning Star Chapter, and pastor of Ss. Mary and Joseph Parish in Valparaiso, will provide Mass, confessions, Adoration, and spiritual direction during the Life In the Spirit retreat.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House offers a peaceful atmosphere of prayer and recollection, situated on a spacious acreage near Waverly.  The facility includes 50 single rooms, each with a private bath. Each retreat includes meditations by the retreat master, and opportunities for silence, prayer, Adoration and the Sacraments. Retreats typically begin with a rosary and Mass at 8 p.m. on Friday, and end with Mass on Sunday followed by lunch.
