LINCOLN (SNR) – A kick-off event will be held Feb. 9 in Lincoln to launch the spring ‘40 Days For Life’ campaign.
The event will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Cornerstone Christian Church, 4849 Old Cheney Rd., Lincoln. If weather permits, participants will walk from the church to the Planned Parenthood abortion facility nearby for closing prayers by flashlight.
The 40 Days For Life prayer vigil will be held Feb. 10 through March 20. Daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., volunteers will provide a peaceful, prayerful witness outside Planned Parenthood.
The vigil has been conducted for more than 10 years, across the United States and in more than 20 other countries. Participants report that many babies have been saved from abortion, abortion workers have converted, and abortion centers closed because of the prayerful witness of those participating in the 40 Days For Life campaign.
Catholic parishes in the Diocese of Lincoln coordinate volunteers to assist in this effort. Those who wish to help praying for an end to abortion may sign up at their local parish, or online at www.40daysforlife.com/Lincoln.
